Terms of Service

By creating an account, joining our Discord, or otherwise using pursueatl.com and the services offered through it (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Pursue ATL (“Pursue ATL,” “we,” “us”), based in Atlanta, Georgia.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You agree to provide accurate information about yourself and what you are building, and to keep it current. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else or impersonate another person or company.

Membership is personal to you. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it.

Pursue ATL currently provides a members-only directory of Atlanta founders and operators, an aggregated calendar of Atlanta startup events, a Discord community, and human-reviewed introductions between members.

Membership is free. We may introduce a paid tier in the future; if we do, we will publish its price and terms before you are asked to pay for anything, and paid features will be optional. We may change, add, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

Pursue ATL works because members treat it as a place to help each other. You agree not to:

• Send unsolicited sales pitches, recruiting spam, or bulk messages to members.
• Scrape, export, resell, or otherwise redistribute the member directory or any member's information.
• Use the directory or introductions to build a marketing list, whether for yourself or anyone else.
• Harass, threaten, demean, or discriminate against anyone.
• Misrepresent your company, your role, your traction, or your fundraising status.
• Post unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or malicious content.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access, or interfere with the Service's operation.
• Use automated tools to access the Service except for well-behaved search engine crawlers.

Introductions are a courtesy extended by other members. Treat a warm introduction as an invitation to a conversation, not as a lead.

You keep ownership of everything you submit — your profile, your onboarding answers, your introduction notes, and anything you post in Discord. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service, including showing your published profile to other members.

You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm you have the right to submit it. We may remove content that violates these terms, but we are not obligated to monitor or review member content.

Your directory profile is drafted by an AI assistant from your onboarding conversation. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing and editing your profile before you publish it, and for its accuracy afterward. Nothing is published to the directory until you choose to publish it.

We do not vet, verify, endorse, or guarantee any member, company, claim, or opportunity. An introduction means we saw a possible fit — it is not a recommendation, a reference, or a representation about anyone. Any dealings you enter into with another member are solely between you and that member, and you are responsible for your own diligence.

The events calendar aggregates listings from public sources and third-party organizers. We do not host, control, or vouch for those events, and details may be inaccurate or out of date. Confirm with the organizer before you go.

Nothing on the Service is legal, financial, investment, tax, or business advice.

The Service relies on and links to third parties, including Google, Discord, and external event organizers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

The Service, including the site, its design, the Pursue ATL name and logo, and all content we create, belongs to Pursue ATL and is protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from it without our written permission.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it, and is incorporated into these terms.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account, remove your profile, or remove you from the Discord server if you violate these terms, if we reasonably believe your conduct harms other members, or if we discontinue the Service.

Sections covering your content license, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any introduction, connection, or outcome will result from your membership.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pursue ATL and its organizers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pursue ATL and its organizers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your dealings with other members, or your violation of these terms or of any law or third-party right.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Pursue ATL agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and each of us waives any objection to venue there.

Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. We will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will notify members by email or through the site before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Pursue ATL regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
